HOBA announces first Camp & Jam of season, ticket giveaway

To kick off bluegrass season for the Heart of the Ozarks Bluegrass Association, he first Camp & Jam event of the year will be held Saturday at HOBA Park in West Plains. 

That day is also when winners will be selected for free tickets to the Spring Bluegrass Festival set for June 3 and 4.

“This weekend kicks off the bluegrass season at HOBA park with a chance to camp, jam and enjoy a meal by donation,” said HOBA officials. Supper will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday; the menu offerings include ham and beans or chili and cornbread, along with the choice of tea or lemonade and a dessert.

Jamming will start after 5 p.m. Campers are welcome, with varying fees to be charged. 

The event will be held rain or shine and participants are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.

TICKET GIVEAWAY

For a chance to win a set of weekend passes to HOBA’s 39th annual Spring Bluegrass Festival, visit West Plains Music, West Plains Bank & Trust or Channel 36 TV Light the World studio to register. Winners will be drawn Saturday.

The festival will feature four shows during these three days with six bands performing. A gospel show will be held June 2 with a free bean supper with paid admission. 

While registering, patrons are encouraged to let sponsoring businesses know that their support of the community, HOBA and bluegrass music is appreciated.

HOBA Park is located at 1138 Bluegrass Lane, West Plains. Turn south onto Lanton Road at the stoplight at Glass Sword Theater. Go 1/8 mile to Bluegrass Lane and turn right.
