Inaugural West Plains Prom Parade invokes moments to remember
Parents and students take advantage of permanent art Saturday in downtown West Plains during the inaugural Prom Parade. Several temporary photo stations were also set up around Court Square for the event, which was sponsored by West Plains Downtown and supported by volunteers, businesses and vendors. The new tradition aimed to create a memorable experience for West Plains High School students celebrating the end of the school year and, for some, the end of high school. West Plains Downtown hosted its first Prom Parade on Saturday evening, giving students a chance to show off their fancy duds and dresses before heading out to dance the night away. Downtown businesses provided activity booths and giveaways, including a scavenger hunt and an “oops” station at Gammill Sewing Center on Washington Avenue for last minute wardrobe repairs.
