Jacks Fork Girl Scouts recognized for community service

The West Plains Elks Lodge 2418 hosted on June 15 a lunch for Girl Scouts and their families from the Jacks Fork River area troop. The Girl Scouts had recently completed service project, for which they were recognized. Avery Chapman collected socks for the Mtn. View Back to School Fair, and Shelby Weisbrod collected books for Mtn. View Head Start; both were presented Bronze level awards for their efforts. Gold award winner Jasmine Hulvey collected books and shelves to create a reading center for children and their families, including grandparents, to share time together at the Mtn. View Senior Center.
