Kosh youth among winners chosen at Missouri Junior Angus Preview Show

Missouri junior Angus members, including Blake Freeman of Koshkonong, led 113 entries at the 2023 Missouri Junior Angus Preview Show at the Missouri Cattlemen’s Association All-Breeds Show, held June 10 in Sedalia. Randy Mullinix, Toulan, Ill., evaluated five bred-and-owned bulls, 70 owned females, 35 bred-and-owned females, one cow-calf pair and two steers before naming the champions.

Freeman led DRI ROSE Annie Lu K237 to grand champion owned female. The April 2022 daughter of Colburn Primo 5153 first claimed junior champion honors.    

Wheeler Hunters Ted Lasso claimed the grand champion bred-and-owned bull title after first winning senior calf champion. Rance Wheeler, of Paris in Monroe County, owns the September 2022 son of BNWZ Dignity 8017.

Mead Revival V3107 was named reserve grand champion bred-and-owned bull. Annaliese Mead, of Barnett in Morgan County, owns the September 2021 son of Colburn Primo 5153 and first won senior champion.

Hillard Pride Ever 2041 won the reserve grand champion owned female title after being selected as reserve junior champion. Olivia Gerloff, of Bland in Gasconade and Osage counties, owns the February 2022 daughter of Hillard Pride Ever 2041.

CB Princess 204 was named the grand champion bred-and-owned female after first winning junior champion. Cealy Bedwell, of Holt in Clay and Clinton counties, owns the March 2022 daughter of Hoffman Thedford.

Madelyn Sampson, of Kirksville in Adair County, claimed reserve grand champion bred-and-owned female honors with Sampson MG Princess 2100. The September 2022 daughter of PVF Surveillance 4129 first won the senior calf champion title.

Addison Ward, of Oak Grove in Jackson and Lafayette counties, showed the grand champion cow-calf pair. Wallace Frontier Gal 184 is a March 2021 daughter of Conley Express 7211. A May 2023 heifer calf sired by Stevenson Turning Point completes the winning pair.

Kye Lehenbauer, of Palmyra in Marion County, exhibited the grand champion steer. Conley Cline 266 is a May 2022 son of Conley Lead The Way 0738.

Tyler Meier, of Jackson in Cape Girardeau County, led Raithel CR Express 200 to the reserve grand champion steer title. He is a March 2022 son of Conley Express 7211.
