Gideon S. Mori, 22, Cabool, was the victim of a fatal crash when he was thrown from his vehicle at 11:25 p.m. Sunday on AC Highway, 6 miles northeast of Cabool in Texas County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Tpr. Z.B. Tate with Troop G of the patrol, Willow Springs, reported Mori’s northbound 2008 Pontiac Torrent ran off the road and overturned, causing him to be thrown from the SUV.
Scott Lindsey, who serves as Texas County sheriff and deputy coroner, pronounced Mori dead at 12:51 a.m. Monday at the scene; the deceased reportedly did not wear a seat belt when the crash happened.
The death marks the 16th traffic fatality this year in the nine-county Troop G area, compared to 24 in the same time frame in 2023.
Tate was assisted at the scene by Tpr. C.K. Johnson and the Texas County Sheriff's Department.
