A lightning strike has rendered the splash pad at Butler Children’s Park on Broadway temporarily unusable, report West Plains city officials.
In a statement issued at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday following early morning thunderstorms, Public Relations Coordinator Cody Sanders said city electric crews confirmed the motherboard that controls the splash pad was “fried” by a lightning strike.
A new motherboard has been ordered, he said, but it is unknown how long it will take to be delivered.
