Memorial Day deadlines and closures announced; city pool to open

Posted

Ahead of the Memorial Day holiday on Monday, the Quill announces an early advertising deadline for the May 29 print edition.

All advertisements, including classified ads and legal notices intended to be published in that issue of the Quill must submitted and approved by the advertiser by 5 p.m. Friday.

The Quill office will be closed and no news will be published on Monday. Normal office hours and publication will resume Tuesday. Call 417-256-9191 or email news@westplainsdailyquill.net with questions.

Those wishing to contact any department of the Quill by email should take note that all Quill email addresses have changed so that the domain now matches the website address, westplainsdailyquill.net, and saved contacts should be updated accordingly.

Missouri State University-West Plains offices will be closed Monday, as will all government offices.

City of West Plains Sanitation workers will not pick up trash Monday; routes normally run that day will have their trash picked up Tuesday, with no other routes affected.

AQUATIC CENTER OPENS MONDAY

The West Plains Aquatic Center in People’s Park on Broadway will open for the summer season on Monday. Hours will be noon to 5 p.m. daily with evening swim offered from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursdays only.

The cost of admission is $5 for children ages 3 to 11, and $6 for ages 12 and older. Children younger than 3 are admitted at no charge. Children younger than 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Punch cards for 10 pool visits are available for $30 at the Jimmie Carrol Sports Complex at the intersection of Olden Street and North Howell Avenue.

For more information, including pool rentals, call Parks and Recreation at 417-256-7304.
