The Missouri Department of Transportation is seeking public input on a planned rehabilitation of the Highway 76 bridge over Indian Creek in Douglas County.
The bridge, located about 9 miles west of U.S. 60 near Willow Springs, is slated to have its deck and girders replaced.
The rehabilitation work could begin as early as March 2027. During construction, the road will be closed near the bridge for about three months. A signed detour will route traffic along North Highway 181, AM Highway, U.S. 60 and Highway 76.
Maps, plans and other information regarding the project are available for public inspection at the MoDOT Regional Office, 3956 E. Main St. in Willow Springs.
Any person affected by this project may request that a public meeting be held regarding the proposed improvements. Written requests must be submitted to District Engineer Donnie Brown at 2675 N. Main St., Sikeston, MO 63801, by Thursday.
Comments and questions may also be submitted online at www.modot.org/form/76indiancreek by Thursday. For more information, contact Project Manager Jacob Capeder at 417-469-6210 or call MoDOT’s Customer Service Center toll-free at 888-ASK-MODOT (888-275-6636).
