Welcome Week activities at Missouri State University-West Plains ended with the annual signing of the “Book of Grizzlies” by new students this fall. The event, which saw 155 new Grizzlies sign the two books used in the ceremony, capped a fun-filled week that featured a block party, game night, “Sample West Plains” and job fair, scavenger hunt and “Waterpalooza.” “We had great attendance at all the events, and it looked like everyone had a great time,” said Student Life and Development Director Luke Hurtt. “Our most attended event was Grizz’s Block Party. We had around 175 students in attendance. The mechanical bull was especially a big hit!” Welcome Week take place the first week of classes each fall. It is designed to give students an opportunity to make friends, unwind and learn more about the campus, faculty and staff, Hurtt said.
