Mtn. View library group donates to Birch Tree Elementary

Birch Tree Elementary School Principal Paula Renshaw, right, accepts a $400 donation check from Mtn. View Public Library Friends Vice President Cora Thompson. The money will be put in the third-grade teachers discretionary fund to provide books for their students. Mrs. Thomspon stated, “We are honored and pleased to make this donation and encourage our young students to enjoy reading especially in an area lacking a community library. We also welcome area businesses and civic-minded groups to follow us in our pursuit of supplying teachers and students with more reading material.” The Friends group holds fundraiser book sales, in which all books are 25 cents each, from 8 a.m. to noon the first Saturday of every month at the Mtn. View Public Library, 125 Oak St.
