Mtn. View man killed in Saturday rollover
A 41-year-old Mtn. View man was the victim of a fatal rollover crash at 9:28 p.m. Saturday on County Road 2900, 1.5 miles south of Mtn. View, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Cpl. M. Redmon, with Troop G of the patrol, Willow Springs, reported an eastbound 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by the man failed to negotiate a curve, struck a fence and overturned. The driver was reportedly not wearing a seat belt.
Dr. William Bone pronounced him dead at the scene at 10:09 p.m. The death marks the 10th traffic fatality for 2026 in the nine-county Troop G area, compared to 11 in the same time frame last year.
Redmon was assisted at the scene by Cpl. T.M. Weakly, Mercy Ambulance, the Mtn. View Fire Department, the Mtn. View Police Department and the Howell County Sheriff’s Department.
The patrol no longer publicizes the names of crash victims as of November 2024.
