Mtn. View mayor expected to appoint new alderman in meeting today

Posted

The Mtn. View City Council will meet in a special session at 6 p.m. today in the council chambers at city hall, 120 N. Oak St.

On the agenda for the meeting in open session, Mayor John Krasuski is expected to appoint an alderman to the East Ward. During the Nov. 14 regular session of the council, Steven Sills resigned from the seat, citing personal reasons.

In addition to the appointment, citizen Laura Wagner is slated to speak to council members about the contentious city administrator position which has been vacant for several years and the council is seeking to fill, despite some citizens’ complaints that the city cannot afford to do so.

In a closed session during the meeting, the city council will conduct second interviews of the candidates who have applied thus far for the position. The interviews were tentatively scheduled for today during the Nov. 14 meeting.
