Newton's donates $2,500 toward cystic fibrosis research
Newton’s Agency, a longtime supporter of the annual Cystic Fibrosis Concert fundraiser, recently donated $2,500 to support research into the genetic respiratory disease, for which there is no cure. It is the 36th year for the event featuring country artist Sara Evans, a Boonville native and a Grand Old Opry inductee. The concert will be March 16 at the West Plains Civic Center, 110 St. Louis St. Doors open at 5 p.m. with silent and live auctions to follow, and local volunteer singing group Jessica's Friends will open for Evans, who will take the stage at about 8 p.m. Tickets for adults are $30 in advance or $40 at the door, and $5 for children age 12 and younger, in advance or at the door. They may be charged by phone by calling the civic center at 417-256-8123, or online at Ticketmaster.com/Sara Evans.
