Oregon Co. author to hold books signings during eclipse activities

Posted

Area author Donna Brown, writing under the pen name Cygnet Brown, has written a new book focused on the newly created Wild and Scenic Riverway in Oregon County, called "Oregon County, Wild and Scenic."

The book is intended to bring attention to the beauty of the Eleven Point River in Oregon County, the only designated Wild and Scenic Riverway in Missouri, even though parts of the river run through Howell County and Arkansas.

She will be signing and selling books as part of weekend activities leading up to the April 8 total solar eclipse.

From 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, she will be at the season's opening day of the Oregon County Farmer's Market at Tucker Creek Park in Alton, off of Highway 19. From 4 to 6 p.m. the same day, she will be at the Eclipse Festival at Thayer High School, 401 E. Walnut St. in Thayer.

Between noon and 4 p.m. Sunday, Brown will be at the Koshkonong Citywide Yard Sale.

Books will also be available for purchase at the Thayer Hirsch Feed and Farm Supply, 660 Nettleton Ave., and the Farmer's Daughter at 907 Front St. in Thayer. In Alton, they are available at Court Square Cafe, Jason's Mexican Restaurant, The Feedsack and Alton Florist, all on Court Square.

Additionally, a copy of "Oregon County, Wild and Scenic" has been donated to the Alton Public Library and will soon be available on Amazon as an eBook.
