Ozark Cafe to donate portion of Thursday sales toward cystic fibrosis research

Posted

Ozark Cafe will hold a cystic fibrosis fundraising day from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at 662 Missouri Ave. in West Plains.

Cystic Fibrosis of West Plains volunteers said owners Raymond and Kim Eding and their staff will “be cooking up some great food for everyone to come and enjoy.” The specials will be fried chicken and meatloaf, and a portion of all sales, whether dine-in, carryout or drive-thru, will be donated to Cystic Fibrosis of West Plains.

Servers will also have a competition for most popular waitress that day and the winner will be the one with the most money in their tip jar.

The Cystic Fibrosis organization has raised money through an annual country music concert, which is its signature fundraising event, and Buddy Bass Tournament.

Kim Eding and cystic fibrosis volunteers will be selling chances to enter into a gun giveaway featuring a 9 mm Kimber and a .22-caliber Keltec pistol donated by 4730 Lumber, Randy and Kelly McGinnis, and Adam and Mindy Williams.

The winning ticket will be drawn on March 16, during the 36th annual Cystic Fibrosis Concert featuring Sara Evans. Concert tickets will also be available for purchase at the restaurant; advance tickets are $30 for adults and tickets for children 12 and younger are $5 in advance and the day of the event.

Organizers invited all to come join them Thursday at Ozark Cafe for a “fun time and some great food.”
