MOUNTAIN VIEW —Work has officially begun on a new Ozarks Healthcare clinic in Mtn. View.

Despite some mud and misty drizzle, spirits were not dampened during a groundbreaking ceremony held April 29. Opening remarks were given by Ozarks Healthcare President and CEO Tom Keller and 155th District State Rep. Travis Smith.

Until the new clinic is completed, the current Ozarks Healthcare Mtn. View Clinic at 220 N. Elm St. will remain open.

“This new clinic space signifies our unwavering commitment to providing exceptional care to the Mtn. View area,” Keller said. “We are thrilled to expand our healthcare offerings and enhance the quality of life for our residents."

The new facility will feature expanded testing areas, patient rooms and cutting-edge medical technology, which reflects Ozarks Healthcare's commitment to community growth and wellbeing, health system officials added. They said the facility will house a range of services including family medicine, therapies, imaging and a retail pharmacy, all aimed at providing holistic care for the community.

“Closing the healthcare gap between urban and rural happens one new facility at a time,” said U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development State Director Kyle Wilkens. “This is proof of long-term community commitment from Ozarks Healthcare and the federal government.”

Josh Reeves, vice president of development and advocacy at Ozarks Healthcare, also pointed out the significance of the new clinic space and its impact on community health.

“At Ozarks Healthcare, we are dedicated to meeting the evolving needs of our community,” Reeves said. “This groundbreaking ceremony in my hometown represents a pivotal moment in our journey to provide comprehensive healthcare services to Mtn. View and surrounding areas. Thanks to the support of our community, and leaders like Missouri State Senator Karla Eslinger and State Representatives David Evans and Travis Smith, we’re able to make stronger healthcare a reality. We look forward to the positive impact this facility will have on the health and wellbeing of our community.”

Smith also commented on his family's involvement in the project, as the owners of the lot where the new clinic will be built, expressing pride at the culmination of the plan and thanks to all who worked to secure the funding.

“There is nothing more important to rural communities than having healthcare,” Smith, said during his remarks. “When you have a healthy society, the people of that community are more apt to be productive.”
