“These two girls are waiting patiently for kids to play with,” says West Plains Regional Animal Shelter volunteer Trish Hammen. “They have so much energy and love to share. We are not sure of the breed, but only guessing they are some kind of terrier mix.” The puppies, who volunteers have named Ginger and Athena, are about 3 to 4 months old. The fee to adopt a dog from the shelter is $50. Hammen says the shelter is in need of dry cat food, canned dog and cat food, and cheap clay cat litter. To learn more about adopting a pet or to make a donation drop by the shelter at 1486 BB Highway between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays, or call 256-8438.
