“Kittens, kittens, kittens… these are just a few available at the shelter,” says West Plains Regional Animal Shelter volunteer Trish Hammen. She notes Layla and Lottie are siblings and are only 6 to 7 weeks old. The fee to adopt a kitten is $45 and includes the cost of spaying or neutering and vaccinations, which are required for all cats adopted out of the shelter. Hammen says current needs for the shelter are canned cat food and dry dog and cat food. “The new shelter building is coming along nicely,” she adds. “We are still taking donations to help finish the inside of the shelter.” To learn more about adopting or to donate supplies or funds, drop by the shelter, 1486 BB Highway, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays, or call 417-256-8438.
