Photography show, Bear-ly Spring Festival this weekend in Willow

Posted

The Willow Springs Arts Council is hosting a photography show today and Sunday in downtown Willow Springs.

The exhibition opens from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. today. The debut coincides with the Bear-ly Spring Festival, offering attendees the opportunity to view local photographic works during the community celebration. The exhibit will reopen from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

The display is located upstairs in the historic Ferguson Building at 127 E. Main St. Visitors should use the building's side entrance off Harris Street, which is marked by a green door.

The show highlights the work of featured photographers Reda Foster, Shawana Cox, Gail Rowley, Dennis Crider and Bob Cunningham. The collection includes various styles and subjects, ranging from wildlife and landscapes to artistic compositions, said organizers.

A special reception for the artists will be held from noon to 4 p.m. today, where light refreshments will be served. The arts council encourages Bear-ly Spring Festival guests to view the gallery and meet the photographers.

The Bear-ly Spring festival will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday on Willow Springs’ Main Street. An inaugural Willow’s Got Talent show will be held at 11 a.m., and the event will include fun and games for children, shopping and food.

Admission to the festival and photography show is free and open to the public.
