The West Plains Daily Quill office will be closed Friday in observance of the Independence Day holiday.
Because the holiday falls on a Saturday this year, the federal observance will take place on Friday. There will be no Saturday paper. Regular business hours will resume at 8 a.m. Monday, and normal print newspaper publication will resume with the July 8 edition.
Area residents are reminded that all municipal, county, state and federal government offices will also be closed Friday. This includes local city halls, courthouse offices, post offices, the West Plains Public Library and the administrative offices of Missouri State University-West Plains.
In West Plains, residential sanitation routes normally scheduled for Friday pickup will be collected early on Thursday, along with the regular Thursday routes. City officials also remind the public that discharging fireworks within the city limits is strictly prohibited.
