Posted

Glen E. Trantham, 75, Koshkonong, was the victim of a fatal UTV crash at 5:10 p.m. Friday on east U.S. 160, 4 miles west of Thomasville in Oregon County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Msgt. S.L. Nelson with Troop G of the patrol, Willow Springs, reported Trantham was westbound in his Kubota UTV, model year unknown, when it was rear-ended by a 2022 Ford Escape driven by Joy A. Barton, 49, Alton.

Trantham was not wearing a safety device when the crash occurred, the report shows. No injuries were reported for Barton, who wore a seat belt.

Dr. Korby Pogue pronounced Trantham dead at 5:44 p.m. at Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains.

His death is the 17th traffic fatality in the nine-county Troop G area for 2024, as compared to 24 in the same time frame last year.

Nelson was assisted at the scene by Cpl. M.T. Weakley and crash team member Sgt. M.B. Lomedico.
