All city, council and state government offices and buildings will be closed Monday for New Year’s Day. This includes driver exam stations and license offices, the Howell County office building and courthouse, and West Plains City Hall and the public library. The U.S. Post office lobby will also be closed.
City Administrator Sam Anselm reminds those whose trash is normally picked up on Mondays will have their trash picked up on Tuesday, because of the holiday.
The Greater West Plains Area Chamber of Commerce remains closed Monday through Monday, resuming normal hours of operation on Tuesday.
Missouri State University-West Plains offices will reopen at 8 a.m. Thursday.
The Quill will also be closed for New Year’s Day, reopening Tuesday following for normal operations. Advertisements, including classified ads and legal notices, meant for publication in Wednesday’s Quill must have been submitted and given final approval by the advertiser by 5 p.m. Friday.
