Arkansas State head coach Mike Silva has added seven players to the roster this summer and retained 13 starters for his third season at the helm.

Signing 10 total newcomers to the class, the new signees join Three Rivers College transfer Harrison Engskov and incoming freshmen Clayton Kline and Keaton Mathis.

Silva and his staff held a tremendous retention rate this offseason, with all 13 players with remaining eligibility who made at least one start last year set to return for the Jonesboro, Ark., university team’s 2026-27 season.

Everyday starters Ashton Quiller and Lane Walton look to build on their offensive production from last season. Derek Martinez returns for his sophomore campaign after earning second-team All-SBC and All-Sun Belt Freshman Team honors.

Joey McLaughlin, Aidan Houseworth and Cole Manuel also return after significant production in the field and at the plate. On the mound, standouts Tyler Weimer, Andrew Allen, Collin Maloney and Ryan Ashford are expected to contribute heavily in 2027, along with Ckyler Tengler and Houston Tomlinson, who look to factor favorably into next season’s pitching staff.

A-State also returns a pair of key players from injury. Pitcher Jack Hibbard was a standout on the mound during his freshman season, recording 12 starts, 56.1 innings and 45 strikeouts. Jalen Foxx, the Red Wolves' opening-day left fielder in 2026, also remains with A-State and looks to provide an impact with his presence.

Incoming junior Tyler Herb arrives in Jonesboro from Mount Dora, Fla., by way of Florida Gulf Coast University. The infielder made 59 starts across 77 games, spending most of his time at shortstop. Batting left and throwing right, Herb holds a career .276 batting average and a .351 on-base percentage. The Florida native recorded 59 total hits, including five doubles, three triples and two home runs, for 30 RBIs. Defensively, Herb had a .975 career fielding percentage for the Eagles while turning 25 double plays. He prepped at TNXL Academy prior to his two seasons at FGCU.

Marcus Lawler joins the Red Wolves as a middle infielder. He is the No. 40 overall player and No. 2 second baseman in Alabama for the 2026 recruiting class, according to Prep Baseball. Lawler calls Oxford, Ala., home and was named to the MaxPreps 2026 preseason Alabama all-state team.

Hailing from Greenacres, Fla., Eric Flores joins A-State from Wellington Sports Academy as an outfielder. Batting and throwing left-handed, Flores represented the Gators in their inaugural season, leading the team with a .352 batting average and 14 extra-base hits.

Cole Simoneaux transfers to Arkansas State after two seasons with the Nicholls State University Colonels in Thibodaux, La. He made five starts and 20 total appearances his freshman season before working out of the bullpen for 19 appearances during his sophomore campaign. He threw 55 innings across both seasons with a 6.71 ERA, 74 strikeouts, a .239 opposing batting average and a 2-4 overall record. He came to Nicholls from Napoleonville, La.

Austin Haley joins the Red Wolves as a two-way player and incoming senior from Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kan. He spent two seasons at Murray State College in Tishomingo, Okla., out of Howe High School in Howe, Texas, before going to Manhattan. With Murray State, Haley earned 2025 National Junior College Athletic Association Division II first-team All-American honors, leading the team in almost every offensive category. For K-State, Haley tossed 21.1 innings for a 2-0 record and 3.80 ERA, striking out 11 batters across two starts. He also made appearances at the plate, tallying 11 at-bats, one run, one RBI and a pair of walks.

Noah Redmon comes to A-State as a right-handed pitcher after two seasons at Indiana Tech. He prepped at Heritage High School in New Haven, Ind., and made 24 starts across two seasons for the Warriors. With a 12-4 career record, Redmon finished his NAIA career with a 4.90 ERA. He recorded 152 total strikeouts through 119.1 innings and allowed 98 hits, including a pair of complete-game shutouts. In his 2025 campaign, Redmon struck out 10 batters in an outing twice.

Joining A-State as a freshman, Tyler Kenast ranks among the top prospects from the state of Florida. From Winter Springs, Fla., Kenast holds a 9.0 Perfect Game grade. He played a key role in Winter Springs’ Florida High School Athletic Association Class 5A state championship appearance.

In total, Silva and his staff brought in five high school recruits and five transfer players for 2027 to supplement the returning roster. The 13 eligible returning starters made up 225 of last season’s 530 starts, accounting for 42% of last year's total starts.
