The Willow Springs Lions Club recently hosted its 45th annual Father’s Day golf tournament at the Thomas F. Benyo Municipal Golf Course, bringing together golfers from across the region for a weekend of competition and community support.
The two-person scramble event paid out cash prizes to the top four teams across five flights — Championship, A, B, C and D. Each flight awarded $800 for first place, $500 for second place, $250 for third place and $150 for fourth place.
In the Championship Flight, Jordan Slayton and Cole Johnson took home the top prize after carding a 57.
Proceeds from the tournament support Lions Club programs, including vision and hearing assistance, youth scholarships and community events. The club also raised an additional $70 through a kayak raffle, made possible by a donation from Derek Shelton.
Two skins were paid out during the tournament for $273 each, won by Wendy Willard and Noah Leslie.
