The first outdoor Sounds Downtown concert of the season, sponsored by Community First Banking Company, was held Thursday evening at The Back Lot. The opening act was the Downtown House Band, shown, followed by Drifter’s Mile. The music series is free of charge and will be held the third Thursday of each month off of East Dixon Street along Luster Arcade. The site will soon host a monthly featured food truck. The Back Lot has recently been improved with the addition of a retaining wall, removal of debris left from the demolition of a building and the addition of a buried electrical line. It’s also part of a larger effort by property owners, West Plains Downtown, and the City of West Plains to revive the downtown area and make it more inviting. The next event, set for July 2, will be the Downtown Stroll, held the first Thursday of each month.
