St. Charles man drowns following medical emergency

A 75-year-old St. Charles man drowned Saturday afternoon on the North Fork of the White River following a medical emergency, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Tpr. K.L. Hogan, with Troop G of the patrol, Willow Springs, reported the incident happened at 3:18 p.m., 5 miles south of Dora in Ozark County. The man lost consciousness after a medical event, causing his kayak to capsize.

First aid was rendered at the scene until the man was pronounced dead at 4:26 p.m. by Dr. Kepperman, who arrived via Air Evac, the report shows.
