Texas Co. sheriff asks patrol to investigate Saturday morning death

Posted

Texas County Sheriff Scott Lindsey has asked the Missouri State Highway Patrol to conduct an external investigation into the death of a woman who was found unresponsive in a holding cell on Saturday morning, he announced.

The deceased, Larissa R. Saladin, 31, of Mtn. Grove, was reportedly being detained, or temporarily held, at the Texas County Jail at the time she was discovered to be unresponsive. Jail staff attempted life-saving measures, along with responding emergency medical personnel and officers with the Houston Police Department, Lindsey said. She was taken to Texas County Memorial Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead, he added.

Saladin’s family has been notified, and Texas County Coroner took custody of her remains and has scheduled an autopsy, Lindsey said.

The patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control have been asked to investigate Saladin’s death. Lindsey expressed sympathy for Saladin’s family, and urges citizens to join him in praying for comfort for those affected by this loss.
