Three Rivers Hospice focuses on 'Courageous Conversations' this month

With the theme of "Courageous Conversations" for 2023, National Hospice and Palliative Care Month, held Nov. 1 through 30, is about to wrap up.

To recognize the occasion, representatives at Three Rivers Hospice took the opportunity to talk about what they and other hospice care providers do for their clients and families year-round, providing comprehensive end-of-life care in the home.

“Three Rivers Hospice is pleased to celebrate National Hospice Month with our community,” said officials. “‘Courageous Conversations’ is our goal and we are proud to assist in doing this every day.

“At Three Rivers Hospice, we are acutely aware how difficult it can be to have the hospice conversation with terminally ill patients,” they continued. “Along with our board-certified hospice physician, our trained clinicians develop a plan of care designed with each patient's specific needs in mind. We communicate with patients and families to determine what that plan looks like and make necessary changes when needed.”

Among Three Rivers’ many services, the hospice organization offers in-home nursing visits, in-home personal care, spiritual and emotional support, medications associated with the hospice illness, supplies and equipment.

“It is our primary goal to make cure that our patients are comfortable and their families understand how we can support them, too,” officials added.

Three Rivers Hospice officials say they consider it an honor and a privilege to care for those who need it most. To find out more about their hospice care services, call 417-255-1560.
