Posted

Twin Bridges Volunteer Fire Department in Douglas County will be the site of a meet-the-candidates event and town hall meeting set for 5 p.m. July 20.

The town hall will be moderated by Howell County News Publisher and Editor Amanda Mendez, and will include discussions pertaining to Missouri’s 8th District in the U.S. House of Representatives, Missouri House District 155, Missouri Senate District 33, Douglas County Commission District 2 and the Douglas County Sheriff.

To date, organizers say they have confirmed appearances from 8th District candidates James Snider and Grant Heithold, Senate candidate Brad Hudson, 155th District House candidates Julie AuBuchon and Matthew Overcast, Commissioner Brad Loveless, and Sheriff Chris Degase and candidate for that office Trampus Taylor.

An all-you-can-eat dinner fundraiser will offer hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans and desserts for a donation of $10. An dessert auction will also be held. Proceeds will go toward the fire department.

Live music performances will be given by Gary Smith, Tom Hicks and Jackie McCormick.

To get to the fire department from Willow Springs, travel about 8 miles west on Highway 76, and turn left onto Highway 181. Travel south about 7 miles, and the building will be on the right. From Ava, take Highway 14 east about 35 miles, then turn left onto Highway 181. Head north about 6 miles and the building will be on the left.
