West Plains Pride, a local nonprofit organization supporting the area's LGBTQIA+ community, will host a free family picnic and kickball game at noon May 23 at Galloway Park.
Organizers invite the LGBTQIA+ community and allies to come together for an afternoon of community-building and fun.
The organization will provide hot dogs, burgers and bottled water for attendees. Guests are asked to bring a side dish or dessert to share, along with a lawn chair or blanket and a good cheering voice for the kickball game.
There is no charge to attend the event, though donations to West Plains Pride are welcome. Organizers noted that the park's pavilion has been reserved, so the picnic will take place rain or shine.
