The John J. Pershing U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center will hold a drive-through flu vaccination event from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 23 at its West Plains clinic, 1418 Doctors Drive. No appointments are needed.
For veterans visiting the main campus in Poplar Bluff, a walk-in vaccination clinic is open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the campus lobby through Nov. 13, excluding federal holidays. Additionally, a drive-through clinic will be held at the Poplar Bluff Urgent Care south entrance at 1500 N. Westwood Blvd. from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 28 through Oct. 2.
Veterans are asked to bring their VA health identification card to the clinics. Those who wish to receive other vaccinations on the same day can do so; however, officials recommend getting the flu shot first at the clinic, then visiting a primary care provider for any additional vaccines.
Veterans unable to attend the scheduled clinics can receive a flu vaccination at their next primary care appointment. They may also get the shot at no cost from a VA-approved, in-network community provider by showing their VA ID card.
To find an approved in-network provider, visit www.va.gov/find-locations. For more information about services offered through the VA clinic, call 573-686-4151 or visit www.va.gov/poplar-bluff-health-care.
