Willow Springs High School’s Class of 2024 celebrated graduation exercises Saturday.
The class flower was the dahlia; the class motto, “Be the change you wish to see in the world”; and the class song, Ed Sheeran’s “A Beautiful Game,” which proclaims, “Out of the embers, we’ll rise from the ashes / and write in the stars without names / that we are here, we are bruised, we are damaged / but the joy was worth the pain.”
Addressing their fellow classmates were Class President Mason Owens, Salutatorian Luke Mansfield and Valedictorian Maddie Poor, all three reflecting on memories made between kindergarten and senior year, and sharing inspiration for the future, referencing pop culture icons from Kanye West to Tom Petty to Bilbo Baggins to underscore their messages.
