As the 2026-2027 school year approaches, Willow Springs School District has announced important dates, open house schedules and updates regarding daily bus routes.
Classes for the district will officially begin Aug. 24. The regular school day will start at 8 a.m. and dismiss at 3:24 p.m.
Bus Route Adjustments
District officials announced adjustments to daily bus routes for the upcoming school year via the district’s social media. The changes come after a review of several operational factors, including declining ridership in certain areas, ongoing bus driver shortages and limited state transportation funding for Missouri school districts.
District administrators emphasized that student and staff safety remains the top priority. Route adjustments will continue to follow recommendations and guidelines from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
Families affected by route changes began receiving direct notification calls on Tuesday. Parents with questions regarding transportation are encouraged to call the district transportation office at 417-469-3260.
High School Schedule Changes
High school students adjusting their class schedules can do so at the high school on the following schedule:
• Sophomores: from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. today.
• Freshmen: from noon to 2 p.m. today.
(Seniors and juniors completed schedule changes on Tuesday).
