Woman dies in head-on crash in Douglas County

A Christian County woman suffered fatal injuries in a head-on crash at 10:54 a.m. Nov. 13 at the intersection of Highway 14 and O Highway in Douglas County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Cpr. C.A. Edens, Troop G of the patrol, Willow Springs, reported a westbound 2012 Ford F150 driven by William H. Egan, 63, Ava, crossed the center line and impacted an oncoming 2018 Ram Promaster cargo van driven by Heather R. Nesbitt, 32, Ozark.

Douglas County Coroner Rick Miller pronounced Nesbitt dead at noon at the scene; she was not wearing a seat belt when the crash occurred, the report shows.. Egan, who wore a seat belt, reportedly suffered moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Cox South Medical Center in Springfield.
