WP Noon Rotary announces Boots and Barbecue event

The West Plains Rotary Backpack Program annual fundraiser is underway, culminating with a Boots and Barbecue event starting at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 10 at Rubydoo’s Event Center, 9240 County Road 9190 off of ZZ Highway just east of West Plains.

Tickets are $40 in advance and $50 at the door, and include a barbecue dinner, cash bar, music, live auction, hay rides and a “cash bubble house” game. Happy hour will last from 5:30 to 6 p.m., followed by dinner until 7, then a live auction until 7:30. Hayrides will be offered from 7:30 to 8:30.

The backpack program aims to serve children at risk of hunger by sending home bags of easy-to-prepare meals and snacks for nutrition over weekends and holiday breaks.
