WPHS Speech and Debate novice places 2nd in first-ever competition

The West Plains High School Speech and Debate team competed Oct. 13 and 14 in a tournament at Missouri State University in Springfield. The following students moved on to semifinals in their events: Kaylee Adams, Alannah Gower, Grace Eades, Taylor Merriman, Myah Hibler, Zane Vermillion and Caden Sciotto. Of those who competed in semifinals, Sciotto, a sophomore, moved on to finals, and was awarded second place in Novice Original Oratory at his first-ever Speech and Debate tournament.
