Posted

The Willow Springs Fire Department is partnering with the American Red Cross to launch a new program aimed at providing free smoke alarms local households, to be installed by a firefighter.

The program is open to those who live in the city limits of Willow Springs as well as those who are members of the Willow Springs Rural Fire Protection Association.

Anyone interested in having a Willow Springs firefighter install a smoke alarm in their home at no charge, or who wishes to discuss a fire escape plan or ask questions about home fire safety is invited to contact the fire department by emailing wsfd@willowspringsmo.com for the city fire department or WSRFPA@gmail.com for the rural fire protection association. People may also call Willow Springs City Hall at 417-469-2107 to request an installation; the message will be forwarded to fire personnel, who will return the call to set up an appointment.

Residents living within the Willow Springs Rural Fire Protection Association coverage area who are not members and would like to be are encouraged to email the association to begin the process. Membership dues are $50 per year and prevent property owners from receiving a bill in the event of a fire response at their home.
