Posted

Over 45 Project Lead the Way students attended the April 9 Missouri S&T Showcase at the Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla and presented their projects to university professors and students to gain feedback on their work.

West Plains High School freshman Scott Klingler won an all-expense-paid summer camp at Missouri S&T while attending the showcase.

Three Zizzer teams competed against other schools in the Innovation Summit competition judged by professionals in their respective fields, two of which earned top marks.

In the Biomedical category, seniors Roxy Clinton and Tara Sargent and sophomore Camille Coleman took first place for their project, “Increasing Awareness About Karst Topography.”

In the Engineering category, junior Jesse Jeffery, senior Hunter Graham and juniors Evan Melvin and Brody Jones took first place for their design and construction of a commercial VTOL (vertical takeoff and landing) drone.

Both teams were awarded $1,200 each for their wins.
