The West Plains Zizzers softball team will travel to Branson to compete in five games at the Mary Arnold Festival on Sept. 18 and 19.
West Plains opens tournament play on Friday with two afternoon matchups. The Zizzers will face Roff at 2:30 p.m. before taking on Silo at 5:30 p.m. Both Friday contests will be played on the Famous Dave's field.
On Saturday, the Zizzers return to the Famous Dave's field for a tripleheader. West Plains begins the day against Marlow at 10 a.m. The team will then play back-to-back afternoon games, taking on West Moore at 1 p.m. before closing out the festival against Fox at 2:30 p.m.
Tournament matches will feature an 80-minute time limit. The festival will also observe National Federation of State High School Associations run rules, ending games early if a team leads by 15 runs after three innings or 10 runs after five innings. A coin flip will determine the home and visiting teams for each contest, and metal cleats are strictly prohibited.
The multi-team festival will take place on two complexes in Branson: the Branson Rec Plex, located at 1501 Branson Hills Pkwy., and Ballparks of America, located at 1000 Pat Nash Drive.
