The West Plains High School volleyball team will host a 12-team field for the 2026 West Plains Showdown Tournament on Sept. 12 at the West Plains Civic Center, 110 St. Louis St.
The action is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
The tournament field is divided into three pools for the morning sessions. The host Zizzers will compete in the Red Pool alongside New Covenant, Blair Oaks and Salem. The White Pool features Marshfield, Mountain View-Liberty, Rolla and Highland, Ark.. Mt. Vernon, Willard, Mtn. Grove and Central will make up the Black Pool.
Pool play will consist of two-set matches starting at 9 a.m. and continuing throughout the early afternoon. Once pool play concludes, the top two teams from each pool will advance to a six-team Gold bracket, while the bottom two teams will move to a six-team Silver bracket to compete for the championships. Bracket seeding will be determined by pool play records, head-to-head results and total points.
The Gold Division will award trophies for first and second place, while the Silver Division champion will receive a plaque. Medals will also be awarded to an All-Tournament Team, which will feature an MVP from the Gold championship squad.
Organizers noted that concessions will be available, and outside food or coolers are not permitted inside the civic center. Due to limited seating on the back courts, fans are asked to be courteous and relocate when their team is not playing to ensure seating is available for the supporters of actively competing teams.
