A half-cent local sales tax passed by Ozark County voters in November to add funding to the Ozark County Sheriff's Department budget has not been implemented as planned due to an error in ballot language that prevented the Missouri Department of Revenue from collecting the tax — but Ozark County and state officials are working to get the initiative before voters again as quickly as possible.
