Baxter Health has added nurse practitioner Derek McMurry to its pain management team in Mtn. Home, Ark.

McMurry brings more than a decade of experience as a nurse practitioner specializing in pain management. Before earning his master's degree in nursing as a family nurse practitioner from Samford University in Alabama, he worked for more than 10 years as a practicing chiropractor treating musculoskeletal and spine conditions.

Throughout his nursing career, McMurry has worked in dedicated pain clinics treating chronic back and neck pain, nerve pain, arthritis, post-surgical pain and other complex conditions. He coordinates and assists with interventional procedures, including epidural injections, nerve blocks, joint injections and spinal cord stimulation.

He also pursued advanced training in pain management through Harvard Medical School, along with additional education in ultrasound-guided and fluoroscopic procedures. His clinical background spans musculoskeletal, orthopedic and neurological care.

McMurry began seeing patients this month, joining a clinic team that includes Dr. Ryan Krafft, physician assistant Niger Stice and nurse practitioners Candi Caldwell, Alison Eckert and Kala Hatch.

Brian Barnett, vice president of physician enterprise and business development at Baxter Health, noted that McMurry brings valuable expertise and a patient-centered focus to those seeking solutions for chronic pain.
