5 Ava residents injured in Saturday crash
Five Ava residents suffered minor injuries in a crash at 7:40 a.m. Saturday on Highway 5 at Squires in Douglas County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Sgt. L.S. Elliott, with Troop G of the patrol, Willow Springs, reported a southbound 2020 Nissan Armada driven by a 15-year-old boy ran off the left side of the road and struck an embankment as the driver tried to turn left into a private driveway.
Along with the driver, a 35-year-old woman and three boys, ages 12, 8 and 5, suffered minor injuries. All occupants were wearing seat belts or using child car seats except for the woman, the report shows. They were taken by Cox Ambulance to Cox South Medical Center in Springfield for treatment.
Elliott was assisted at the scene by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and the Squires Fire Department.
Two Texas County residents injured in Sunday rollover
A 17-year-old Houston girl and a 22-year-old Bucyrus woman suffered minor injuries in a rollover crash at 3:05 p.m. Sunday on Boiling Springs Road, 5 miles west of Success in Texas County.
Tpr. T.L. Brown reported an eastbound 2000 Mitsubishi Outlander driven by a 26-year-old Bucyrus man was traveling too fast for conditions, ran off the right side of the road, struck a concrete culvert and overturned.
The passengers were wearing seat belts, but the driver was reportedly not. The passengers were taken by Texas County Memorial Hospital Ambulance to TCMH in Houston for treatment, the report shows. No injuries were reported for the driver.
Alton motorcyclist seriously injured in June 1 crash
A 45-year-old Alton man suffered serious injuries in a motorcycle crash at 5:45 a.m. June 1 on P Highway, 6 miles west of Alton in Oregon County.
Tpr. A.K. Hughston reported an eastbound 2006 Honda VT750 ridden by the man struck a deer and overturned, throwing the rider from the vehicle.
The rider was not wearing a helmet and was flown by Air Evac to Cox South for treatment, the report shows.
Springfield man seriously hurt in Ozark Co. crash
A 36-year-old Springfield man suffered serious injuries in a semi-truck crash at 9 a.m. June 1 on J Highway, about 12 miles south of Gainesville in Ozark County.
Tpr. G.L. Plummer reported a northbound 2020 Freightliner Cascadia driven by the man ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected and ran off the left side of the road.
The driver was not wearing a seat belt and was taken by Ozark County Ambulance to Baxter Health in Mtn. Home, Ark. for treatment, the report shows.
Plummer was assisted at the scene by the Gainesville Fire Department.
Tractor collision injures two 80-year-old men
Two 80-year-old Caulfield men suffered injuries in a two-vehicle crash at 12:10 p.m. June 1 on Highway 101, about 8 miles north of Bakersfield in Ozark County.
Tpr. J.Q. Hummel reported a southbound 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 driven by one of the men rear-ended a southbound John Deere tractor driven by the other man.
The driver of the Dodge suffered moderate injuries, was wearing a seat belt and was taken by ambulance to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains for treatment. The driver of the tractor suffered minor injuries and was taken by private vehicle to the same facility; his seat belt use is unknown, the report shows.
