Koshkonong teen seriously injured in Friday head-on collision

A 13-year-old Koshkonong boy suffered serious injuries in a two-vehicle crash at 5:35 p.m. Friday on west U.S. 160, 8 miles northwest of Protem in Taney County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Tpr. C.B. Henderson, with Troop D of the patrol, Springfield, reported a westbound 2024 Audi Q5 driven by a 35-year-old Koshkonong woman crossed the centerline and struck an eastbound 2020 Mercedes Benz GLB driven by a 62-year-old Protem woman.

The 13-year-old boy, riding as a passenger in the Audi, was taken to Cox South Medical Center in Springfield for treatment, the report shows. The driver of the Mercedes suffered minor injuries, and a 12-year-old Protem boy riding as her passenger suffered moderate injuries; both were also taken to Cox South.

All four occupants were wearing seat belts. No injuries were reported for the driver of the Audi. Henderson was assisted at the scene by Cpl. J.W. Choate.

 

Two teen boys hurt Saturday in Douglas Co.

Two 16-year-old boys suffered moderate injuries in a crash at 12:05 p.m. Saturday on Y Highway, 5 miles west of Ava in Douglas County.

Msgt. C.A. Hogue, with Troop G of the patrol, Willow Springs, reported a westbound 2004 Dodge Dakota driven by one of the teens ran off the right side of the road and struck a tree.

Neither boy wore a seat belt, the report shows; both were flown by air ambulance to Cox South.

Hogue was assisted at the scene by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department.

 

Friday rollover injures 3 from Alton

Three Alton residents were hurt when a pickup truck overturned at 3:10 p.m. Friday on Highway 19, 3 miles north of Thayer in Oregon County.

Msgt. T.W. Meyer reporteda southbound 2000 Chevrolet Silverado driven by the woman ran off the left side of the road and overturned.

The 26-year-old woman who drove and a 24-year-old male passenger suffered minor injuries, and a 59-year-old male passenger suffered moderate injuries. All three were wearing seat belts and were taken by ambulance to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains for treatment, the report shows.

 

Two from Couch hurt in rollover crash

A 39-year-old Couch woman and an 11-year-old girl suffered injuries in a rollover crash at 8:50 a.m. Friday on E Highway, a mile east of A Highway near Couch.

Tpr. N.G. Britt reported a westbound 2018 Lincoln Navigator driven by the woman began sliding, ran off the left side of the road and overturned.

The driver reportedly suffered moderate injuries and the child suffered minor injuries,, the report shows; both were taken by ambulance to Ozarks Healthcare for treatment.

Both wore seat belts.

Britt was assisted in the accident investigation by Msgt. Meyer.

 

Hydroplaning crash injures 2

A 48-year-old Willow Springs woman and her passenger suffered minor injuries in a rollover crash at 7:25 a.m. Friday on west U.S. 60, 4 miles east of Cabool.

Cpl. J.R. Sellars reported a vehicle driven by the woman hydroplaned, ran off the road and overturned.

The driver and her 40-year-old male passenger were wearing seat belts and were taken to Ozarks Healthcare for treatment, the report shows.
