Alfred Lopez, 43, Mtn. View, was ticketed at 7:08 p.m. April 19 on a charge of speeding by 11-19 mph. Officer Matthew Combs.

Pascual Villarreal, 71, Chicago, Ill, was ticketed at 12:49 a.m. April 19 on a charge of driving while under the influence of alcohol. Officer Alexis Johnson.

Kimberly Sutton, 54, Mtn. Grove, was ticketed at 2:18 p.m. April 20 on a charge of leaving the scene of a crash.

Shane Callies, 50, Springfield, was ticketed at 9:23 a.m. April 22 on a charge of having a dog at large.

CALLS FOR SERVICE

Officer Johnson stopped a vehicle on April 19 for weaving. The driver reportedly jumped out of the vehicle, and after a field sobriety test, was placed under arrest. At the police station, he allegedly blew a 0.262 blood alcohol content on the breath test, and a ticket was issued.

On April 19, Officer Combs spoke to a man who was panhandling and advised him he needed a permit.

Officer Combs provided information on April 19 to a caller who requested information about how to get an order of protection against her child’s father.

On April 19, Assistant Chief Stetson Schwien spoke to someone who reported someone stole her TV while she was asleep and her son was out of the house, and she believed she knew who did it. A complaint form was left with her.

Sgt. Kaleb Berkshire responded on April 19 to a two-vehicle crash. Both vehicles were driven from the scene and a report was taken.

On April 19, Assistant Chief Schwien returned a call to someone seeking advice on possible communication with family while a restraining order is in place, and told him if the order is active, no contact at all can be made.

Sgt. Berkshire was dispatched on April 19 to conduct a well-being check after a woman said she was unable to reach her sister. When he arrived to check on the sister, she was talking on the phone to the reporting party.

On April 20, a woman went to the police station to report her wallet as stolen, saying she knew who did and the wallet had been given back, and the person who had taken it had been messaging her. Officer First Class Kylie McGee advised her to stop contact with the person and file for an order of protection.

Officer First Class McGee responded on April 20 to South Elm Street to serve a municipal arrest warrant. A woman was taken into custody and bonded out.

On April 20, Officer First Class McGee took a report of a hit-and-run crash at Taco Bell. A ticket will be issued.

Officer First Class McGee and Reserve Officer Dawanesha Scott responded on April 20 to a call regarding a suspicious person at Valley View Apartments. It was reported a man had been walking around for a few days, not living anywhere. They spoke the man, and he said he was staying in an apartment there with a friend, and the friend confirmed his account.

On April 20, a woman called to report two men at her house refusing to leave. Sgt. Berkshire responded and found the woman was intoxicated. He spoke to the men, who both said she had invited them to live with her and they had no idea why law enforcement was called. The woman was wanted on a Shannon County warrant, and was arrested and taken to the Shannon County Jail.

Officer Johnson stopped a vehicle on April 21, resulting in the driver being taken into custody and ticketed on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

On April 21, Officer First Class McGee was dispatched to a parking lot to ask a panhandling family to leave the lot. They did.

Officer First Class McGee had a message from a man on April 21 about a motorcycle and title he had received from a man living in Mtn. View, noting he had received the wrong title and wanted to speak to an officer. She tried to return his call multiple times unsuccessfully.

On April 22, a dog was running loose. Officer Johnson contacted the dog’s owner, who put the dog up.

Officer First Class McGee received a call on April 22 about an aggressive dog trying to attack people. She contacted animal control, which was already on the scene, and the animal control officer said the owner had been warned to keep he dog chained up. The owner was contacted and issued a ticket, then was able to get the animal properly leashed.

On April 22, Officer First Class McGee responded to a two-vehicle crash. Both vehicles were driven from he scene and a report was taken.

Officer First Class McGee received a call on April 22 from a resident who was cleaning their yard and found a tombstone. The officer took the tombstone. The name and date on the stone were hard to read, but after looking, was found. After some investigation, it was determined the stone was from 1890 and had been taken from Lone Pine Cemetery in Pomona. She contacted the cemetery’s caretaker and told her police had the stone. The caretaker will pick up the stone and return it to the cemetery.

On April 22, Cpl. Israel Guidry responded to a verbal domestic dispute.

Officer First Class McGee spoke to a resident of Summersville on Tuesday about her 17-year-old daughter leaving home in the night and going with a 24-year-old man to Howell County. The mother said her daughter had been seeing the man, and she was unsure what to do, but would be contacting the Juvenile Office for the teen. She was advised to contact the Howell County Sheriff’s Office about the man.

On Tuesday, Officer First Class McGee received a call about an elderly woman who had fallen and could not get up. The woman said her door was locked but emergency medical services had a master key. When EMS arrived, the officer assisted with lifting the woman, who appeared to have broken her shoulders. She was taken to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains.

Officer First Class McGee was dispatched on Tuesday for a residential alarm call. She noticed the front glass door was unlocked, leading to a screened area that was locked. The side door was also discovered to be unlocked, and the officer entered the home through hat door. The homeowner was there with her dog and had forgotten to rearm her alarm system.

On Tuesday, a woman who had called earlier in the day went to the police station to file a report for the Juvenile Office regarding her daughter running away multiple times. Officer First Class McGee assisted.

Cpl. Guidry responded on Wednesday to a commercial alarm. The doors were secured with no sign of forced entry, and the key holder stated they would not respond unless needed.

On Wednesday, Cpl. Guidry responded to a domestic disturbance. Neither party wanted to file charges. The officer noticed minor scratches on arms and informed them that if he had to return, they would both go to jail.

Cpl. Guidry took a report Wednesday from a woman who left her phone in a van with another woman when she left.

On Thursday, Cpl. Guidry stopped a white box truck out of Illinois.

A woman reported on Thursday that a neighbor was yelling at her and her husband every time they go outside. Assistant Chief Schwien spoke to both parties and told them to leave other alone, and that if he had to return, tickets will be issued.

Assistant Chief Schwien helped the caretaker of Lone Pine Cemetery on Thursday when she came to pick up the tombstone found by Officer First Class McGee earlier in the way, and helped load the stone into the woman’s vehicle.
