Posted

A 15-year-old Zanoni boy suffered serious injuries when thrown from the vehicle in which he was riding at 4:45 p.m. Monday on Highway 181 in Zanoni in Ozark County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Cpl. D.J. Johnson, Troop G of the patrol, Willow Springs, reported a northbound 2002 Toyota Echo driven by another 15-year-old from Zanoni ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected, then traveled off the left side of the road and overturned, throwing the passenger from the vehicle.

Neither teen wore seat belt at the time, and the driver suffered minor injuries, the report shows. Their names are not made public because of patrol policies protecting the identities of minors.

The passenger was flown by air ambulance to a Springfield hospital for treatment and the driver was taken by ambulance to Baxter Health in Mtn. Home, Ark., for treatment, Johnson reported.

An 18-year-old Texas County driver was hurt in a crash at 4:42 p.m. Tuesday in Phelps County.

Tpr. K.P. Hunt with Troop I of the patrol in Rolla reported Korina J. Swaringim, 18, Licking, was southbound in her 2012 Ford Fiesta on U.S. 63 at the intersection with Forest Service Road 1892 when an eastbound 202 Honda Pilot, driven by Lawrence J. Bresciani of Bridgewater, Mass., pulled into the Ford’s path and struck the Ford on the driver’s side.

Both drivers wore seat belts, the report shows; Swaringim was taken by private vehicle to Phelps Health in Rolla for treatment of minor injuries. No injuries were reported for Bresciani.
