ARRESTS

Hunter James Wheat, 19, was arrested Jan. 15 on charges of fraudulently trying to obtain a controlled substance and resisting arrest for a felony. He was released the following day without bond. Cpl. Brandon Stephens.

Amanda Leora Hall, 39, was arrested Jan. 15 on a charge of not having a required license and released the same day without bond. Cpl. Thomas Manning.

Shawnna Lynn Wade, 42, was arrested Jan. 16 on a charge of being a fugitive from out of state and released from West Plains police custody the following day without bond. Officer Austin Deshazo.

Jamie Lee Adams, 45, was arrested Jan. 17 on a charge of violating a protection order and released the following day without bond. Officer Brent Keepes.

Eric William Ely, 44, was arrested Jan. 18 on a charge of speeding by 16-19 mph over and released the same day on $300 bond. Officer Jacob Miller.

Justice Blake Martin, 19, was arrested Jan. 18 on a warrant for failure to appear and released the following day on $400 bond. Officer Edward Heuchelin.

Derick Blake Runnels, 23, was arrested Jan. 19 on three warrants for failure to appear and released Monday on $1,400 cash-only bond. Cpl. Stephens.

Wendell Edward Harris, 39, was arrested by an unnamed jailer on Jan. 19 on a charge of not having a required license and held on $200 cash-only bond.

Lucas Steven Haynes, 20, was arrested Jan. 19 on a warrant for failure to appear and released the same day on $400 bond. Cpl. Stephens.

Caleb Lane Bridgewater, 21, was arrested Jan. 19 on a charge of being a fugitive from out of state and released from West Plains police custody the following day without bond. Officer Nathaniel Siegrist.

Alison Rose Woodruff, 27, was arrested Jan. 19 on three warrants fo failure to appear and released the same day on $750 bond. Officer Robert Shell.

Mikayla Rose Hewitt, 22, was arrested Jan. 20 on five warrants for failure to appear and held on $2,518.50 bond, $518.50 of which is cash-only. Sgt. Josh Wichowski.

Sarah M. Hines, 27, was arrested Jan. 20 on a charge of not having a required license and released the same day without bond. Cpl. Stephens.

Victor Dunn, 34, was arrested Jan. 20 on charges of disorderly conduct, failure to obey lawful order, resisting arrest and trespassing. He is held on $3,800 bond. Officer Shell.

Delsa Dawn Watson, 43, was arrested Jan. 20 on charges of assault, disorderly conduct, failure to obey a lawful order, resisting arrest and stealing. She was released the following day on $7,000 bond. Cpl. Manning.

INCIDENT REPORTS

At 9:24 a.m. Jan. 15, Officer Deshazo responded to the 400 block of Preacher Roe Boulevard for a report of a verbal domestic disturbance. A report was completed for documentation.

Officers stopped a vehicle at 3:39 p.m. Jan. 15 for expired plates. The driver was arrested on a charge of driving on a suspended license, taken to the police station for booking and fingerprinting, and released with a ticket. Cpl. Manning.

Officers on patrol at 3:47 p.m. Jan. 15 near First Street stopped a vehicle, resulting in the arrest of the driver for not having a required license. The driver was taken to the city jail for fingerprinting and booking, then released with a court date.

At 4:04 p.m. Jan. 15, officers stopped a vehicle with expired tags on the 800 block of Broadway. The driver was found to be driving with a revoked license, arrested, taken to the police station for booking and fingerprinting, and released with a ticket. Cpl. Manning.

Officers were dispatched at 4:44 p.m. Jan. 15 to the police department lobby for a man who wanted to turn himself in on a warrant for failure to appear. He was booked into the jail and released after posting bond. Officer Shell.

At 5:10 p.m. Jan. 15, officers on patrol near West Third Street stopped a vehicle, resulting in the arrest of a man on a charge of driving while revoked or suspended. The man was taken to the city jail for booking and fingerprint, then released with a court date. Officer Shell.

Officers responded at 6:17 p.m. Jan. 15 to a home on the 1100 block of Webster Avenue, where a youth was found dead. The case, logged as suicide, is open and under investigation. Officer Jacob Brixey.

At 8:25 a.m. Jan. 16, Officer Deshazo responded to the 1300 block of Lanton Road for a report of a runaway youth. The boy was found later in the day and returned home. The report is being forwarded to the Juvenile Division for review.

Officer Whitley Clark responded at 9:09 a.m. Jan. 16 to the police department lobby to take a report of stealing. A man reported someone had used his account information to make a purchase valued at $2,054.83. The case has been forwarded to detectives for further investigation.

At 11:23 a.m. Jan. 16, Officer Clark responded to the police department lobby to take a report of child molestation involving a youth younger than 17 and offender at least four years older. The case is open and will be sent to detectives for further investigation.

Officers were dispatched at 11:41 a.m. Jan. 16 to the 1400 block of Seventh Street for damage to a door. The case is under investigation. Officer Conner Burnes.

At 12:36 p.m. Jan. 16, Officer Deshazo responded to the 1100 block of Newton Street for a runaway youth. While there, he identified a woman wanted on active felony warrants out of Sharp County, Ark., who was taken into custody. The case will be sent to the county prosecutor’s office for review.

A woman filed a report with police at 1:52 p.m. Jan. 16 regarding a wallet lost, with its contents, at the McDonald’s on Preacher Roe Boulevard. Officer Ivie Powell.

At 5:24 p.m. Jan. 16, officers responded to a domestic altercation at a home on Burke Avenue. It was found a verbal argument had happened between two people in a romantic relationship. Both were separated and no charges are sought. Officer Brent Keepes.

Officers were dispatched at 6:23 p.m. Jan. 16 to the 1000 block of Davidson Street to conduct a well-being check on someone who might have overdosed. A woman was contacted and later taken to Ozarks Healthcare to be placed on a 96-hour mental health evaluation hold. Officer Shell.

At 9:54 p.m. Jan. 16, officers stopped a vehicle with a suspended driver on Columbus Street. The driver was arrested and taken to the police station to be fingerprinted, then released with a ticket. Cpl. Manning.

Officer Meyer responded at 5:28 a.m. Jan. 17 to the 300 block of Walker Street for a call of unknown type. A person was taken by ambulance and a report was created for informational purposes.

At 12:36 p.m. Jan. 17, Officer Clark responded to the police department lobby for a report of first-degree domestic assault. The case is open for further investigation.

Officer Clark responded at 1:28 p.m. Jan. 17 to the 1800 block of Lasswell Street regarding an assault that had occurred just previously. A juvenile referral and probable cause statement were forwarded to the Juvenile Office for third-degree domestic assault and out-of-control juvenile. The case is considered close.

At 4:23 p.m. Jan. 17, officers were dispatched to a home on Burgoyne Drive for a well-being check on a resident due to a possible court order violation. After interviews and investigation, a man was taken into custody and placed on a 24-hour hold pending a formal charge of violating an order of protection. Officer Keepes.

Officers were dispatched at 12:24 a.m. Jan. 18 to the 2700 block of Burke Avenue for a trespassing report. It was learned no crime had been committed and a report was taken for information. Officer Jesse Martin.

At 2:45 a.m. Jan. 18, Sgt. Wichowski was conducting routine business checks in the area of Chestnut Bend and found an open door at a business. The business was found to be unoccupied and the door was secured.

Officer Powell responded at 11:11 a.m. Jan. 18 to the municipal court for a man wanted on an active Oregon County arrest warrant with a cash-only bond of $750. The man was arrested and taken to the Howell County Jail.

At 12:43 p.m. Jan. 18, Officer Powell responded to the municipal court for a woman held on a contempt charge. She was ordered to serve 15 days in the city jail or pay $200 cash bond. She was arrested and taken to the city jail.

Cpl. Stephens took a report at 1:02 p.m. Jan. 18 to document suspicious activity in the 800 block of Worley Drive.

At 2:16 p.m. Jan. 18, the Southwest Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force received a tip from the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children that Google had observed files depicting child sexual abuse material on its servers. The suspect is believed to live in West Plains. Investigation is ongoing. Detective Joe Neuschwander.

Officers were dispatched at 4:38 p.m. Jan. 18 to the 800 block of Missouri Avenue for a violation of an order of protection. The suspect was not located and a probable cause statement was forwarded to county prosecutors. Officer Keepes.

At 5:04 p.m. Jan. 18, Officer Jerry Mingus was dispatched to the 1300 block of Preacher Roe for a complaint of stealing. A man was seen on security video taking items and not paying.

Officers were dispatched at 5:34 p.m. Jan. 18 to the area of Porter Wagoner Boulevard and Seventh Street regarding a pedestrian who had been hit by a vehicle. A woman was taken to the hospital by ambulance for treatment of injuries. An accident report was completed and further investigation will be conducted. Officer Keepes.

At 7:20 p.m. Jan. 18, Officer Keepes was dispatched to the 300 block of Maple Street for a domestic altercation between brothers. It was found the two men did fight, but no injuries occurred. No charges are sought as both separated.

Sgt. Wichowski was on routine patrol at 4:26 a.m. Jan. 18 on the 300 block of Lincoln Avenue and saw a man walking down Broadway. The man ws found to be wanted on active arrest warrants and subsequently arrested, at which time he was found to be in possession of a controlled substance. Formal charges will be pending through the county prosecutor’s office once lab results are obtained.

At 9:46 a.m. Jan. 18, officers were dispatched to the 1900 block of Linda Drive for a sexual offense, in which a youth reportedly took and sent expllcit images to another youth. The case is under investigation. Officer Burnes.

Officer Powell responded at 11:13 a.m. Jan. 18 to the 200 block of Davis Drive for a theft report. The victim reported a woman he knew stole $300. The case is under investigation.

At 1:35 p.m. Jan. 18, Cpl. Brent McKemie completed a report regarding sexual abuse of a child younger than 14 that occurred on the 1100 block of Lanton Road. The case is under investigation.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office at 2:56 p.m. Jan. 18 asked for digital forensics to be conducted on a cellular phone as part of an ongoing investigation. The process was conducted and the device and a report were given to the case agent. Detective Neuschwander.

At 5:11 p.m. Jan. 18, officers were dispatched to a home on First Street for a man wanting to harm himself and others. It was learned an argument involving multiple people in the home was happening. A man and woman were taken to the emergency room for a 96-hour mental health evaluation hold. No charges sought as all parties separated for the night. Officer Keepes.

Officers on patrol at 11:56 p.m. Jan. 18 saw a man on the 1500 block of Preacher Roe Boulevard who was wanted on an active arrest warrant for failure to appear. He was arrested and booked on the warrant. Officer Heuchelin.

At 1:20 a.m. Jan. 19, Officer Meyer stopped a vehicle on First Street and the driver was found to be intoxicated. The driver was arrested and taken to the city jail to be booked, fingerprint and released. The case was referred to the county prosecutor’s office for review.

Sgt. Wichowski responded at 1:48 a.m. Jan. 19 to the area of St. Louis St. and Myrtle Street to assist the Howell County Sheriff’s Office with locating a suspect after a vehicle pursuit. A report was completed for documentation.

At 10:49 a.m. Jan. 19, Cpl. Stephens responded to the 2400 block of McFarland Drive to serve an arrest warrant. A man was arrested on an active city warrant, booked and released after posting bond.

Officers were dispatched at 4:21 p.m. Jan. 19 to the 1300 block of Preacher Roe Boulevard for a call of trespassing. Two people were ticketed. Officer Shell.

At 5:03 p.m. Jan. 19, officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Aid Avenue to serve an arrest warrant. A person was arrested and placed on a 24-hour hold pending a formal charge of being a fugitive from out of state. Officer Siegrist.

Officers were dispatched at 6:25 p.m. Jan. 19 to the 1300 block of Preacher Roe Boulevard for a call of trespassing. A woman was initially given a court date, but later was arrested on active warrants and taken to the city jail for booking. Officer Shell.

At 12:59 a.m. Jan. 20, Sgt. Wichowski received information about the whereabouts of a woman known to be wanted on numerous arrest warrants. He went to a home on the 1200 block on Jefferson Avenue, where she was located and taken into custody without incident.

Officer Meyer responded at 1:28 a.m. Jan. 20 to the 400 block of South Hill Street for a report of a disturbance. When he arrived, he found a person had destroyed another’s property. The suspect was arrested and taken to the city jail to be booked, fingerprinted and released with tickets.

At 8:59 a.m. Jan. 20, Cpl. Stephens stopped a vehicle on St. Louis St., resulting in the driver’s arrest on a charge of driving while suspended. She was released with tickets after processing.

Officers were dispatched at 2:25 p.m. Jan. 20 to the police department lobby for a report of an unruly teenager. A report was taken and charges will be sent to the Juvenile Office. Officer Keepes.

At 4:53 p.m. Jan. 20, officers were dispatched to Parkway Shopping Center on Porter Wagoner Boulevard for a confrontational man. The man was taken to Ozarks Healthcare for a 96-hour mental health evaluation hold. Officer Siegrist.

Officers served a warrant for failure to appear at 8:02 p.m. Jan. 20 near the 100 block of Burgoyne. A man was arrested and taken to the city jail for booking. Officer Keepes.

At 9:57 p.m. Jan. 20, officers responded to the 1300 block of Preacher Roe Boulevard for a missing youth. Officers found the children at home, and a woman reportedly suffering from mental illness. The woman was allegedly found with stolen merchandise and placed under arrest for stealing, but then resisted arrest, causing more charges to be filed. Cpl. Manning.

Officer Martin was dispatched at 10:34 p.m. Jan. 20 to the 1100 block of Webster Street for a report of harassment. A report was taken and charges are sought.
