Sept. 3
At 12:40 p.m., Chief Wes Ellison, Deputy Chief Ryan Boyle and Sgt. David Hocking responded to a rollover crash on westbound U.S. 60/63 near Peterbilt. The driver was still in the vehicle and emergency fire and medical personnel were attempting to extract her when officers arrived. She was taken by Willow Springs Ambulance to an unspecified facility for treatment of serious injuries.
Reid C. Edwards, Groom, Texas, was ticketed on a charge of speeding by 31-35 mph over the limit. Officer Katie Kreuser.
Sept. 6
Officers Ryan McGinnis and Corey Clark responded at 10:28 p.m. to a call regarding shots fired in Texas County. The case is under investigation.
Sept. 7
At 4:45 p.m., Lt. Michael Zeller stopped a Brightspeed company truck for not having a license plate. The employee driving the vehicle was detained for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. He was transferred to the ICE detention facility in Springfield on Sept. 9 following a court appearance.
Sept. 14
Officer Paden Turnbull was notified of a potential threat made by a student of Willow Springs Schools. The threat was deemed unfounded.
Sept. 25
At 8:20 p.m., Officer Mark Templemere was dispatched to Love’s Travel Stop’s semitruck parking lot for a simple assault incident between two drivers. Both drivers were on scene and separated, and the case was investigated.
Sept. 26
David Thomas, Montgomery, Ala., was ticketed by Officer Templemere at 6:37 p.m. on a charge of assault.
Sept. 29
Officer Clark saw three people sitting on the sidewalk in front of the Willow Springs City Pool at 12:19 a.m. All three cleaned the sidewalk and were issued warnings for trespassing and second-degree property damage.
