Four people hurt in Sunday crashes

Paul W. Dugan, 19, West Plains, suffered serious injuries when his motorcycle struck a deer at 1:25 a.m. Sunday on north U.S. 63, 3 miles north of Cabool in Texas County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Tpr. T.L. Sullivan with Troop g of the patrol, Willow Springs, reported Dugan was wearing a helmet when his northbound 2003 Honda struck the animal. He was taken to Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston for treatment, the report shows.

Russell A. Ross, 64, Tecumseh, suffered moderate injuries in a crasht at 2:40 p.m. Sunday on County Road 308, 2 miles east of Hardenville in Ozark County.

Ross was not wearing a seat belt when his northbound 1990 Chevrolet Silverado ran off the right side of the road and struck a tree, according to Sgt. A.R. Johnson.

He was taken by Ozark County Ambulance to Baxter Health in Mtn. Home, Ark., for treatment, the report shows.

Two people from Licking were hurt when their vehicle struck a fence and a tree at 2:50 a.m. Sunday on N Highway, 7 miles north of Licking in Texas County.

The patrol reported the crash happened a northbound 2013 Chevrolet Sonic traveling at a high rate of speed ran off the road. The driver was Brett C. Lewis, 23, and his passenger was Shakirah Williams, 22, and neither wore a seat belt, according to Tpr. T.L. Sullivan.

Sullivan reported both were taken by TCMH Ambulance to TCMH for treatment, and Williams suffered serious injuries while Lewis suffered minor injuries.
