Officers with the West Plains Police Department responded to a pedestrian-involved traffic crash at 5:34 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Porter Wagoner Boulevard and West Seventh Street.
A press release issued by police Cpl. Thomas Manning Friday morning stated a 26-year-old woman was crossing Porter Wagoner on foot, and not on a crosswalk, when a southbound vehicle struck her. Police did not identify the woman, who was reportedly taken to Cox South Medical Center in Springfield for treatment of critical injuries.
The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene of the crash and has been cooperating with law enforcement, police added. An investigation is ongoing.
